Today’s Campuses Urgently Need High Quality Antisemitism Education

At a time when rates of antisemitic incidents are rising on college campuses and national debates are intensifying about how best to respond, UC Berkeley's Antisemitism Education Initiative (AEI) helps campuses thoughtfully and effectively challenge antisemitism in all its forms. We provide campus stakeholders with the cultural competency and the tools they need to effectively identify and respond to antisemitism in their communities.

Our approach brings together the expertise of Jewish studies and Israel studies scholars; scholars of other forms of bias, hate, and discrimination; Hillel professionals who work daily with students; and campus diversity, equity, and inclusion staff. This unique combination of perspectives gives us powerful insights into the multifaceted and layered implications of antisemitism on college campuses. We use a variety of modalities to educate students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

What We Do

  • Facilitate trainings and workshops on antisemitism for faculty, administration, staff, and students on college campuses

  • Consult with campus leaders on best practices around identifying and responding to antisemitism

  • Host scholarly conversations and sponsor programs by renowned scholars whose work is connected to antisemitism studies

  • Develop educational resources and materials for classroom and campus use
